AFFILIATED GALLERIES

Artist's Proof Gallery, Georgetown, Washington DC >

Contact for Representation/ If you've found me here and think my work will be a good fit for your Gallery (outside of Washington DC), do reach out. We'd love to hear from you.

COMMISSIONS

Having command over a variety of visual languages, I specialize in Commissions, which are by far the most rewarding and scary (thus fun!) way to purchase artwork. It's the way kings and queens do it, and you can too. Fine art is the most authentically personal, loving, healing and luxurious gifts you can give yourself or another.

Favorite places - Places you want to be - Places you want to go - Windows looking out into your desired world - Portraits of Pets or Loved ones - Abstracts to perfectly round out a decor - Modern, Decorative, Mural etc.

Because work is commissioned beforehand, you get to choose your own budget, colors, size and essentially be involved as much as you want. Through the magic of photoshop we can take a peek at what it will look like before we even start. Simple and easy. Just give send us a mail, say hi, and we're off.

HOW TO COMMISSION

Just call. That's it. We absolutely love hearing from you. Or give us a ping via email or social media and the game is afoot. Ultimately we need to know two things -- what you want, and what you want it to be worth (aka. what your budget is). You actually only need to know one of those, and we can use that to find the other via some simple, fun exercises.

TYPES OF COMMISSIONS

The Most Simple -- Just Lay It All Out There

If you know what you want and have your budget in mind, just lay it all out there. "Hey ras, I'm looking for this to fit this space in this kind of style for this budget... you have anything?" It's that simple. If you can send us a pic of the space you want want the work for, we'll superimpose some samples on it and volley back and forth until we find your winner.

Commissions from Photo

If you know what you want and have your budget in mind, just lay it on the table, and if you send us a pic of the space you want it in, we'll superimpose some samples on it and volley back and forth until we find your winner. So simple. "Hey ras, I'm looking for this to fit this space in this kind of style for this budget... you have anything?"

COMMISSION PRICING

[Queue Jaws Theme]

"How much for a Lincoln Portrait?"

"This is a typical question we get so let's go through it. What size? What style?" "What nature and decor?" "Are we working from photo or live?" "Do you want me to spend a day, week or a month on it, and what do each of those options entail?

I work in a dual-layering system of my own design that allows me to advance paintings over time and over a buildup of layers - or- try to nail it in the first go. I've been beta testing for many years and so far, more layers yeild a deeper, richer and more visually complex work. I make a point to keep work balanced at each stage creative process, and have built my system specifically for Commissions and the ability to be fluid within them.

This kind of leverage, along with ability to change brush size, use different techuiques and materials, etc., allows us the ability to create work at nearly every budget level. Art should be for everyone and I never have, and never will, care what your budget is. I even give myself budgets before starting work. They're just different challenges to me, and all of them keep me humble and sharp.
