I work in a dual-layering system of my own design that allows me to advance paintings over time and over a buildup of layers - or- try to nail it in the first go. I've been beta testing for many years and so far, more layers yeild a deeper, richer and more visually complex work. I make a point to keep work balanced at each stage creative process, and have built my system specifically for Commissions and the ability to be fluid within them.
This kind of leverage, along with ability to change brush size, use different techuiques and materials, etc., allows us the ability to create work at nearly every budget level. Art should be for everyone and I never have, and never will, care what your budget is. I even give myself budgets before starting work. They're just different challenges to me, and all of them keep me humble and sharp.
